- VAPA Funded position for the California State Preschool Program (CSPP).

Examples of Duties:
The VAPA Teacher assigned to support Early Learning is responsible for supporting the goals of Prop 28 - Arts and Music in Schools. Focusing on Visual arts and Musical arts to support the language development of CSPP students.
The incumbent will expected to:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on music, movement, visual arts, dance, and drama activities that encourage curiosity, creative risk-taking, and whole-child development.
- Use songs, rhymes, storytelling, puppetry, and open-ended conversations to model rich language, build vocabulary, and strengthen children's oral communication skills.
- Blend visual and performing arts (VAPA) into daily preschool routines, play centers, and classroom themes.
- Adapt materials, strategies, and experiences so all children—including those with disabilities and diverse learning needs—can participate meaningfully and succeed.
- Plan learning experiences that respond to children’s individual developmental levels, cultures, languages, interests, and identities.
- Build warm, positive relationships with children to create a supportive space where they feel safe to express themselves.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align arts experiences with Preschool/TK Learning Foundations and co-identify language development opportunities.
- Share arts-based strategies, songs, and resources with classroom teachers to help them confidently incorporate VAPA throughout the school day.
- Observe children's creative growth and language development to refine instruction and share insights with teachers and families.
- Collaborate with site and district staff to continuously enhance early childhood arts integration across high-quality learning environments.
- Complete other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid California Child Development Permit or Early Childhood Education Permit by the closing date of the application deadline.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period of one school year. The eligible list will be used to fill vacancies at various school sites.
